About this remedy
Ugraradha Shanti is performed to pacify intense or malefic planetary influences, particularly when the horoscope shows harsh placements of Shani, Kuja, Rahu or Ketu. Such configurations are traditionally associated with repeated obstacles, instability and unrest.
It is advised when the Arudha or Upapada Lagna is afflicted, during Elinati Sani (Sade Sati), Ashtama Shani or Rahu–Ketu transit periods, and before major events such as Griha Pravesha, Vivaha or Gruha Nirmana.
The ritual is conducted by learned Vedic scholars and includes Ganapati Pooja, Kalasha Sthapana, Navagraha Pooja, archana to the Ugra Devatas — Rudra, Bhairava, Narasimha and Durga — Rudra Japa or Maha Mrityunjaya Homa, Durga Saptashati Parayanam, Navagraha Homa and daanam.
